About Gooly

I am known as Ah Goo to my childhood school friends but was replaced with Lai Yee in later years. Gooly is the combination of my surname and initial of my given name. As a Chinese, our surname is placed first and followed by given name.

Little that I knew that Gooly has different meaning in British slang (different spelling though). Nonetheless I keep it as it derived from my name!

Writing is more of a tool for me, to express myself, but never quite professionally. Although sometimes words do fail me due to my limited vocabularies and command of the language. Sometimes I wish I have gone to a Chinese school, or at least studied Chinese but I was too lazy back then to even appreciate the usefulness of the language. So I am neither here nor there.

But I’ll continue to enjoy my own space of writing!
